OPEN 'FUN AFTERNOON' 4TH AUGUST 2007
On the 4th August 2007, Buckingham Spiritualist Church opened its 16th century doors at the oldest building in Buckingham, Chantry Chapel, and invited the residents of Buckingham and the surrounding villages to its first Open Day. The popularity and interest in this event was overwhelming, for as the moment the doors opened, bookings were taken for all five mediums lasting till the end of the day. People of all ages and walks of life attended the day, including the curious, the convinced and even the sceptics. A total of £350 was raised by the residents of Buckinghamshire and a cheque was presented to Buckingham Hospital on Monday. The Mediums were giving ‘mini one to one’ Clairvoyant and Tarot readings. Indian Head massage was also a firm favourite, and after a session what better way was there than to have a cup of tea and a slice of home made cake. President Val Richardson said, ‘By providing readings we give evidence of the afterlife to those who may be experiencing the pain and anguish of losing a much loved relative or friend. Not only is it a valuable healing aid for those still here on Earth, but raises all sorts of other issues!’ The event organiser Don Mahoney asked the question, ‘Still sceptical? Then come along yourself to one of our clairvoyant evening and make up your own mind.’ Val Richardson went on to say, ‘A very big ‘Thank You’ to all those generous local residents that attended.’ Another event is being planned for October 2007.
